No Where To Run, No Where To Hide

The question is often asked, “where do you run when the zombies are right behind you?”  One of the easiest options a person can use in determining the safest places to go is to look at a map of the planet at night (see above.)  Where ever there are no lights, thats a good place to get away from the masses soon to be turned.

Now, viewing these maps you’ll see that Europe and most of North America are veritable lightbulbs, with few dark areas.  In the event of a zombie outbreak it is easy to foresee these areas will be quickly overrun by the fleeing citizenry.

For this reason we recommend that the people living in those areas prepare to defend their personal territories above all else.  Get in touch with your friends and neighbors.  Create actionable plans that will be quickly and easily implemented in case of an outbreak.

Above all, test and train your neighbors to react wisely and quickly.  Perform random drills and repeat them often enough that they are drilled into everyones’ mind allowing them to react on instinct.

Start stocking up on any non-perishable foods (ramen noodles, canned foods, dehydrated or dried foods, etc.)  Make sure you trade out older stock before it goes bad, and make sure your storage plans are optimal for the items being stored.

Get armed.  In the U.S. this will be relatively easy.  In areas like England (where even the Katana is outlawed) find alternative use weapons that will go unnoticed by authorities.  Gardening tools are an excellent choice, and homemade options (potato guns, etc.) are also viable options.

Above all else, make sure that someone is monitoring the news on a regular basis and disseminating any possible outbreaks to the group.  Set up an area on the zombie forum on this site to discuss and talk about what you’re doing and how you’re planning.  Get involved with other groups that can help you, and that you may be able to assist.

Hold regular meetings as well.  Make sure you regularly discuss your current readiness state as well as upcoming plans.  Go over what’s been said in the news, and review any scenarios that could be a zombie outbreak in disguise.  Consider what you would do if the same thing happened near you.  Are you prepared for that particular scenario?  If not, come up with plans for it.

The number one rule is to Be Prepared.  Keep an eye on the Zombie Threat Level and always know that an outbreak is imminent and do everything within your power to ensure you are ready for that eventuality.
