Escape Plan Part 3 Of 4: Pack Before Hand
It should go without saying, but it doesn’t. Most people don’t prepare for emergencies until those emergencies are occurring. These same people may have done all the studying on any possible emergency. They may know that they should have bottled water stored in the case of an earthquake, or that they should have a fire extinguisher in their kitchen, but they don’t. People, in general, don’t prepare.
This is something that you should change in yourself. The zombies are coming, it’s only a matter of time. So don’t get caught unprepared. Pack now, and make sure that you have everything you need prepared.
It is also important to make sure you have all the necessary gear in multiple locations. You never know where you will be when the outbreak happens so make sure you have caches in several areas throughout your home. You will also want to make sure you have ones in your office and your vehicle in case you’re away from home.
Once you’ve followed the lists and packed your caches, we advise that you constantly review your supplies to ensure that any foodstuffs are eatable, water is fresh, nothing has degraded to the point of deterioration, etc. It is advisable, given your ability to put in the time, to create a list to place at the top of every package with the expiration dates and pack dates of any supplies you have set aside. Creating these lists will enable you to check at a quick glance if anything needs to be replaced.
Finally, make sure you’re mentally prepared for the coming zombie apocalypse. Panic is a good way to becoming one of the walking dead. Packing a bag is only the first step, remembering to grab that bag when you’re running from the zombies is another. Don’t forget your gear.
