AMC Brings The Walking Dead To Life
As mentioned recently, AMC is bringing us a television version of the comic series “The Walking Dead.” Yes, that’s right, the people who bring us “Mad Men” are diving into the undead and putting Robert Kirkman’s vision onto the small screen.
They’re only a few weeks into production so far, but the images we’re seeing look amazing already. If you want to follow the updates, we’ll be discussing it here, and AMC has a blog of their own up and running.
Here’s a little more information from director and executive producer, Frank Darabont: Read the rest of this entry »
How To Walk Like A Zombie
By now you should be aware that the comic book (can we call it that?) series “The Walking Dead” is coming to AMC as a live action show. We’ll be delving into this in the future and may even live blog the show as it airs on a regular basis, but for now we wanted to discuss some of the aspects of the show.
Now we’ve discussed the whole Fast Zombies versus Slow Zombies thing in the past, and we stand by our statements that Fast Zombies are a farce. We’re happy to see the producers of the show have agreed with our opinion and are following suit with the proper shuffling zombie gait, going as far as to hold a “Zombie School” to teach actors how to Walk Like a Zombie.
Here’s the video:
What To Expect After
The day will come when all the zombies are gone. They may be buried, frozen, dissolving at the bottom of the sea, etc. but they will, for all intents and purposes, be gone. At this point humanity, if we have survived, will have to rebuild.
If we are lucky and have survived through the zombie apocalypse there will be little or nothing left of the world and society we now know. Humanity will have been knocked back beyond the Dark Ages to a place little advanced from the Stone Age. Read the rest of this entry »
What are we missing?
We love zombies, and we have to admit we’re excited about the possibility of a zombie apocalypse. But we also understand that we’re human and there are aspects about surviving an outbreak that we can miss. In that vein, we’re asking for help from our readers.
Is there something that we haven’t covered that you think we should? Is there some aspect of the zombpocalypse that you don’t think we’ve covered fully or missed completely? Did we spell zompocalypse wrong?
Let us know what you think we’re missing, or what we could do better. We haven’t nearly run out of ideas yet, and we plan on posting on a daily basis, but we want to make sure that what we’re writing makes sense to you. So please, contact us or leave a comment below with your thoughts.

Fido: A Satirical Zombie Film
So we finally took the time to watch the film “Fido” this weekend. Offhand it was an enjoyable film with some interesting things to say about the world, and how we fit into it. However, as a zombie film, it seemed to be lacking some.
The premise is that in the course of a doctor’s daughter is turned, and in order to save her from being slain, he creates a control collar that gives humans the ability to turn the zombies into slaves. The zombies are turned from a threat into an unpaid workforce with all the perks and few of the drawbacks that slavery actually entailed. Read the rest of this entry »
Zombies In Hollywood
Hollywood has always had a love affair with zombies. Since the dawn of the Silver Screen zombies and the undead have been depicted in all their infamy. Yet, with all the work that goes into these films, the producers, directors, and writers almost always get the facts completely wrong.
In the past Hollywood correctly had zombies trudging along at their slow pace, attacking humans they came across, moaning unintelligibly, and tearing through doors, windows, and walls to get to their prey. They also had them talking and thinking which we all know is a total blasphemy of the zombie regardless of type.
More recent depictions have zombies running under the Eiffel Tower in Paris and chasing people from malls and pubs. As we all know zombies don’t run. They can’t, it’s physically impossible for them to run. Questions are constantly raised as to how they are even able to stumble along or use their muscles at all. Read the rest of this entry »
Bacterial Zombies: A Disintegrating Threat
Threat Level: Orange
Bacterial zombies are an interesting breed. Typically slower moving than almost all other zombie types, they are still considered an Orange Threat level due to the virulence of the strain.
While the strain itself is extremely communicable, the zombies themselves usually don’t last that long. Due to the way the bacteria works these zombies tend to fall apart rather quickly. Read the rest of this entry »
