Fido: A Satirical Zombie Film
So we finally took the time to watch the film “Fido” this weekend. Offhand it was an enjoyable film with some interesting things to say about the world, and how we fit into it. However, as a zombie film, it seemed to be lacking some.
The premise is that in the course of a doctor’s daughter is turned, and in order to save her from being slain, he creates a control collar that gives humans the ability to turn the zombies into slaves. Zombiemania: A Look At The Zombie Fanaticism
We randomly heard about this documentary through a close friend and were sad to find out that it was relatively new, and only appearing on the Starz network. Then, while searching through the new releases on NetFlix the other night, we found that it was available on Instant View.
Being involved in a site about surviving the zombie apocalypse, we figured we had to watch it, and watch we did. We will admit that we were somewhat disappointed, but would recommend it to others who were interested in the mania over zombies that has come up in the past 50 years or so.
We were especially annoyed with the amount of attention paid to the film industry. While we understand that this has been one of the more popular industries associated with the zombie phenomenon, it’s also one that consistently makes huge errors in describing and presenting zombies. More people have been zombified because they believed something they saw in a movie than caught H1N1 naturally this year. Read the rest of this entry »
Rule 1: Cardio
Well, we finally saw Zombieland this weekend, and what can we say. It was funny. Frighteningly inaccurate in many areas, but amusing nonetheless. One of the areas we thought was a great tool to pass along were Columbus’ rules of surviving Zombieland. While we don’t agree with all of them by any means, there were a several that we thought had merit.

How To Survive a Zombie Attack: A Short
While not all the information in this video is 100% accurate, I do believe it gives a general (and jocular) view on how to protect yourself from a Zombie.
That said, I will be posting better information on the tactics and training that you need to survive a true Zombie onslaught. Please come back soon for more information on ensuring that you and your loved ones live through the next uprising of the undead.
